Courses

H2S ALIVE
H2S (hydrogen sulfide) gas is colourless, heavier than air, and extremely toxic. It is a naturally occurring gas found in a variety of geological formations. It is also formed by the natural decomposition of organic materials in the absence of oxygen. It is encountered in a variety of industrial processes, including sewage and waste water treatment facilities, and the production and refining of petroleum, pulp and paper, metals, sulfur compounds and heavy water. It may also be referred to as sour gas, acid gas, stink damp, or sulphuretted hydrogen. This one-day course will explain why hydrogen sulfide is referred to as a silent killer. Hazards, testing methods and equipment, breathing apparatus, and resuscitation techniques are covered in this course.
GROUND DISTURBANCE
A ground disturbance is defined differently depending on whether powered mechanical equipment or hand equipment is being used to perform the ground disturbance. A ground disturbance is defined as any work, operation or activity that results in the penetration of the ground at ANY depth for powered mechanical equipment; penetration of the ground to a depth GREATER THAN 300 MILLIMETRES for hand equipment.
FIRST AID/CPR “A”
First Aid is the emergency help given to an injured or suddenly ill person using readily available materials. CPR stands for Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, which provides artificial respiration and chest compression for a person without vital signs.
POWER MOBILE EQUIPMENT
PME Generic training is based on safe operations under OH&S legislation and regulations.
